Embroidery Warm Up

I have a plan inside of me for a larger embroidery project that I would like to work on. I don't totally know what that means yet, but something illustrative on a larger scale than usual. Still cute, but maybe a little dark, too.

But I haven't been embroidering much of late, so I've been knocking out a bunch of small pieces to get my hands back in shape--available on etsy soon.

Things I've Seen On Walks

Walking around Cicero and Berwyn, there's no shortage of wonderful sites to collect.

And lilies, lilies, lilies. Mine all bloomed back in June.

and I love this final picture, because even though I took it mid-day in natural light with the Harinezumi, it looks like a Dutch painting.

Getting Better Every Day

The northeast corner of our property. A tiny apple tree and lots of hostas.

Today I added loads of flowers to the garden . They're hard to see right now, but they're going to grow big and fat and then this garden will be full of green and purple and red and blue and yellow and white. And I will show you another picture then. . .

Three Spirea Bouquets

Little kiddies have been stealing the low hanging blooms on our spirea bushes, and it occurred to me that I should do the same. Don't know why it took four years to consider bringing in spirea blooms for bouquets in the house. . .

Night Blooming Sirius

Ridiculous. Mine has bloomed every year ever since it turned four. I think the trick is to abuse it a little and to put it outside for the summer. As soon as the fall days hit highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's at night, it buds up.

And I'm not sure there's a prettier flower on the planet.
